THE DIRECTORATE
JB AJANAKU - DIRECTOR
Joseph Bamidele Ajanaku was born on 18th March 1962 at Ibadan, South
West Nigeria. He hails from Oka in Akoko South West Local Government
Area of Ondo State. He attended Nigerian Military School, Zaria
(1975-80) and the University of Jos, Jos (1980-84). He was a recipient
of the Nigerian Government Merit Award for academic excellence in
1980. He graduated in 1984 with a BSc (Hons) from the Department of
Geography and Planning and was commissioned into the Nigerian Army
Education Corps as a Second Lieutenant on 4th October, 1989. He rose
through the officer cadre and was promoted to the rank of Colonel in
September 2012.
With about 26 years of teaching experience, Col JB Ajanaku (rtd)
taught Mathematics, Geography and Economics at the Nigerian Military
School, Zaria and Command Day Secondary School, Rukuba Jos
respectively. He also served as Commandant of different Command
Schools as well as Chief Inspector of schools. As the Divisional
Education Officer at Army Headquarters, Garrison, he trained over 30
Quality Assurance Evaluators for the Nigerian Army and the Federal
Ministry of Defence. He was also involved as a facilitator and
resource person in several training workshops for teachers across
Nigeria.
Col JB Ajanaku (rtd) is a recipient of the Forces Service Star (FSS),
Meritorious Service Star (MSS) and Training Support Medal (TSM) medals
of the Nigerian Army in recognition of his innovative and
ground-breaking contributions to the development of training at
various levels in and out of the army especially in the Command School
System. He also belongs to many professional associations including
Nigerian Society of International Affairs, Nigerian Geographical
Society, Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria and Nigerian
Institute of Management.
A versatile, engaging and seminal motivational public speaking
professional, JB Ajanaku is a leadership teacher and coach,
specializing in the study of leadership failure and prevention. He is
also a trainer and coach in Teacher Education, Individual and
Corporate Training and Development as well as Performance and
Productivity Enhancement in the Workplace. He is a trainer and coach
in the areas of Critical Thinking, Emotional Intelligence, Team
Building, Conflict Transformation and Peer Mediation. Colonel JB
Ajanaku is a poet, writer, book editor, indexer and reviewer as well
as a researcher who has contributed over 90 articles and paper
presentations to local and international journals and at international
workshops and conferences.
While in service, JB Ajanaku co-authored a book for the
Nigerian Army Education Corps titled: Principle, Process and Practice
of School Inspection. He has also co-authored a TETFUND-sponsored book
titled The Total Teacher: 70 questions teachers need to answer to
remain effective in the classroom. He has vast experience as a school
administrator, classroom teacher, adolescent mentor, motivator,
training facilitator and Education Quality Assurance Evaluator. Col JB
Ajanaku retired voluntarily from the Nigerian Army on 31st March 2017.
He is now actively involved in training and consultancy as the CEO of
Great Thinkers Global Resources Limited, a firm specializing in the
provision of performance and productivity improvement training
services for individuals, schools, training institutions and corporate
bodies. His vision is “to transform the workplace environment through
purposeful leadership and creative empowerment programmes for
effective performance and enhanced productivity.”
ENGR HARUNA ACHEKA BITRUS JP - DIRECTOR
He is a holder of a Bachelor of Engineering in Agriculture, COREN
registered Engineer, a Fellow of the Institute of Credit
Administration, a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, and a
member of the Nigerian Institute of Management. He was a lecturer at
College of Agric Zuru before joining the NACB which is currently the
Bank of Agriculture in 1987 where he rose from Officer to the rank of
a Deputy General Manager.
Before his retirement from the Bank in the year 2020, he attended
several courses on Personnel and Financial Management, Project
Formulation, Supervision/Monitoring and Audit. Throughout his career
within the institution, he commanded strategic operations across
multiple jurisdictions, serving as Branch Manager at various branches
in three states, Zonal Head of Internal Audit for the North East Zone,
Zonal Manager for the North East Zone, Head of the Loan Recovery
Department, and Head of the Credit Risk Unit.
Engr Haruna provides specialized mastery in Financial Modeling, Credit
Risk Analysis, comprehensive Data Analysis, high-level organizational
Leadership, Strategy Development, and institutional Loan Recovery
frameworks. He also brings extensive advisory expertise in Project
Formulation, Agribusiness Financing, Agricultural Asset Management,
and specialized Agri-finance Auditing structures.
MARYAM LADI LABBO – DIRECTOR/COMPANY SECRETARY
Maryam is a highly result oriented trained professional with technical
and sound analytical skills who enjoys challenges and accurately
prioritizes a complex workload to meet deadlines. She is extensively
experienced in leading high-impact projects and delivering measurable
value to clients. She is a credit analyst and agribusiness development
expert. She holds a Bachelors degree in agriculture and a Masters in
Business Administration from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
She joined the services of Bank of Agriculture in 1991 and retired in
2025 as an Assistant General Manager after an eventful and successful
career spanning close to 35 years. She worked in various times at the
bank‟s branch (field) offices, projects appraisal and implementation,
credit administration, risk management, audit and
partnerships/collaboration departments.
While in service, she carried out the following special assignments:
- Permanent member of the bank‟s recurrent budget committee
- Member of several committees on loan monitoring and recovery
- Pioneer desk officer of the bank‟s Youth and Gender Desk.

Member, Committee on Implementation of the Presidency Agricultural
Transformation Agenda Private Sector driven Mechanization
Intervention program

Member, Committee on Implementation of the „ Nigeria Sugar Master
Plan‟ in collaboration with the Nigeria Sugar Development Council to
boost sugar production in the country.
Maryam is an recipient of the Certificate on Strategic Leadership,
Ethics and Policy Making from the Nigeria‟s National Institute for
Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS). In December 2025, she was
decorated with the prestigious “Integrity Ambassador” of the National
Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS).
She holds membership of the following professional bodies:

- Member, Agricultural Society of Nigeria (ASN)
- Senior Associate, Chartered Risk Management Institute (CRMI)
